message 1: by Kelly (new)

Kelly I don't know if it counts, but The Tales of Beedle the Bard by JK Rowling are very good too

message 2: by RinaKat (new)

RinaKat I like all of the Harry Potter books!!
I don't have a favorite!!

Erica (storybookend) They're all extremley good books. But the next book always gets better, so #7 is probably the best. But how can you really choose?!

message 4: by Jetmira (new)

Jetmira The 7 books are 1, according to me.
I see the HP books as one looong story.
It was hard to choose but I finally chose HBP because Snape is one of my favorite characters.

I really like snape but i prefer him deathly hallows when it explains more about him. BTW Im in Denial about his Death

message 6: by Ellie (new)

Ellie If I could choose,#4,5.

message 7: by Sangeetha (new)

Sangeetha i can't choose anyone from the harry potter series it is just one long absolutely amazing stories. But the best part is that all the 7 books when taken separately still can be considered as different books without its beauty being lost. J.K. Rowling is absolutely an amazing writer.

message 8: by Adam (new)

Adam too hard 2 choose. i neeed toooo reeread themmmm

Erica (storybookend) J.K. Rowling is an amazing author. No one else could think of such an amazingly magical place, and have everything connected so perfectly, and have the emotions of the characters flow forth from the books and ensnare the reader. Harry Potter certainly deserves its place in this world.

message 10: by Adris (new)

Adris Go Harry Potter! Gotta love these books, but they seem like one long story to me. I love Dumbledore's Army tons, so you can guess which one I chose.

message 11: by Bob (new)

Bob I loved all the books but i still like the original book best. Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone for the world!!!

message 12: by cazdoll (new)

cazdoll i love all the harry potter books but 7 is my fav cause it harry out on his own with his friends and the magic is darker

message 13: by Mie (new)

Mie I got to say 1 FB&WFT and QTA

message 14: by Dexter (new)

Dexter Order of the Phoenix had the most action

message 15: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Go Harry Potter!

I have to say that I've always felt a... let's get all cliche`'d and call it a "magical connection" with the first one. ^^ It shares a lot of memories with me. :*)

I agree with Jetmira.

Seven was HEARTBREAKING. Especially when Jo murdered my all-time favorite character, and didn't even bother giving the deceased a funeral.

Still, gotta love HP. ^^

Who's excited for the Deathly Hallows movie? YEAH!!! ;D

I'm curious who was your all time favorite? Lupin? Fred? Tonks?
...I was the most sad when Dobby died for some reason :(

I'm really nervous about the 7th movie...Probably won't to see it

My absolute favorite was Tonks... I'm even trying to get wotcher into the American dictionary. :) I'm a very huge Tonks nerd. :) I haven't taken off my wotcher bracelet in forever. It never leaves my wrist!!! :-))

(Is it strange that I have Natalia Tena's autograph? I think I might be a little too big of a Tonks fan....)

Yes. I'm crossing my fingers that part 1 will be epic! Come on, you can't NOT see it!!! It's one of those movies that you have to see. Even if you're pretty sure that Yates is going to mess it up. Which would be hard to do... Anyways as a Harry Potter fan you have no choice but to go! ;)

I hope it's good.... (Top box office please!!! Year 6 was beaten by Igor... Whaa.)

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

I think that the 5th book was very boring. It kept droning on and on until the end came. This book was also my least favorite because one of my favorite characters died. Sirius Black died. I also wouldn't put the 7th book at the top of my list because they kill off several of my favorite characters. Voldemort, Fred, and Mad Eye Moody. I know that most of you think that I must be crazy to have Voldemort as one of my favorite characters, but I think that he is a pretty good character. The third book is one of my top favorites because it was in this book that I met Sirius. I think that the seventh movie was loads better than the book so far. I can't wait to see the second part!

message 19: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Lee 6th was my favorite one of the entire series. Out of all of them i've read that one the most (i dont know why i reread it without the rest of the series). Then the third because Sirius is one of my favorite characters. I wish he hadnt had died. Then the 7th, i liked the seventh a lot i just missed them at school.

message 20: by Megan (last edited Feb 10, 2012 01:55AM) (new)

Megan For me, definitely the Half Blood Prince. The twist at the end was magnificent and so courageous for an author to kill off such a well loved and pivotal character. Bravo! It also came at the right time as I found the 5th the worst of the series... As for favourite character - Severus Snape. I loathed him the entire series but now I want to re-read it just to read it from the perspective of knowing his character... What a great accomplishment to have readers not know the true intentions of a character from the very start to the very end...

message 21: by Lea (last edited Mar 14, 2012 07:44PM) (new)

Lea I guess I've read the Deathly Hallows more than anything else. The opening scene scares me more than anythine else in the whole series - Charity Burbage suspended in the Malfoys dining room. Nagini slithering up when she slams to the table. *Shiver* I'm captivated by all the intricacies in the plot of book 7 and I find it the most interesting. I'd also suggest all the Mugglenet publications especially, What Will Happen in Harry Potter 7. I also wanted to tell Sarah that what I love about reading is that you can extend the tales in your imagination however you like. How do you know there wasn't a funeral (:

message 22: by Loveliest Evaris (new)

Loveliest Evaris Personally #4 was my favorite. Then #2.. Least favorite would have to be #6.. I actually saw #1 as the movie before reading it as a book, and I didn't even finish #6's movie, it was soooo boring... Loved Deathly Hallows though! (two thumbs up!)

message 23: by Byron (new)

Byron Brown I wish magic was real so I could cast a spell on JK Rowling and command her to write more great books. My favorite was book 4, it was so engrossing that I read the entire book in just two days. Seven great books by one amazing writer you be a fool not to at lease give them a try. Five stars(:

message 24: by Daphne (new)

Daphne I'd have to say:
5, 3, 6, 1, 7, 4, 2.
But besides 5 and 3, it's so hard to choose! Those two have always been the clear favorites for me. For all of them I would more than willingly at least a bagillion stars!

message 25: by Leila (new)

Leila Please do not add any other books! This list is only about 7 novels in the Harry Potter series.

message 26: by Pranshu (new)

Pranshu Mine top three are 3,7, and 6

message 27: by Pranshu (new)

Pranshu Arrrrrrggg! I'm so sorry! I added the Tales of Beedle the Bard and then saw that you asked for books not to be added and I don't know how to remove it. I'm really sorry!

message 28: by Nima (new)

Nima 5-4-6-3-7 i guess!

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

I liked all of them!

message 30: by Mustafa (new)

Mustafa Ahmad Who the fuck put the Hunger Games there?

message 31: by Luna (new)

Luna My all-time favorite books are the 4th and the 7th. And, of course, whatever books Luna Lovegood is in.

message 32: by Pratika (new)

Pratika My All time favorite.. All the books are really good.. Hats off to the imagination of JK Rowling!!!

message 33: by Killian (new)

Killian Hilll All the books are really great. I hated the way Fred dies. his brother George must feel lonely.

message 34: by Killian (new)

Killian Hilll Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix was my favorite. I dislike book 7 because some of my favorite characters died.

message 35: by Jaygé (new)

Jaygé My favorite will always be Deathly Hallows. I can still remember the anticipation leading up to the release and the midnight reading by Miss Rowling. Finally getting my book and not eating or sleeping before the book was finished. I had to stop a few times, because I cried so much that I could not see the pages.
Yes, all of the books are my favorites, but Deathly Hallows holds a special place in my heart.

message 36: by Dana (new)

Dana Salman Am I the only one seeing Full Metal Alchemist at the bottom...?

message 37: by Caroline (new)

Caroline 4

message 38: by Allie (new)

Allie Barton The 3rd book is my favorite so far, I'm on book 6.

message 39: by Julia (new)

Julia All but Cursed Child!!

message 40: by Julia (new)

Julia I love that Cursed Child is lower on the list than Quidditch Through the Ages, Fantastic Beasts, and Beedle the Bard!!

message 41: by Elle (new)

Elle This might be a very controversial opinion, but anything written after the main 7 Harry Potter books is not very good *cough*cursed child*cough*

The only exceptions are Quidditch Through the Ages and Tales of Beedle the Bard.

message 42: by Mavis (new)

Mavis 69 420 666 All of them suck.

Give this a try. I think you'll be surprised.Gideon Drake and the Fire Within
