This was an enjoyable historical romp with a smattering of fantasy. It feels quite humorous despite being about assassins, and I enjoyed the setting. The pacing was a little off in places and overall the book felt longer than it needed to be. The relationship between Valour and Petrichor became a bit much after a while and felt pretty childish. As always with his books, the characters and story have real heart. Very satisfying! Many thanks to Netgalley for an arc of this book....more
