“There are moments that define a person's whole life. Moments in which everything they are and everything they may possibly become balance on a single decision. Life and death, hope and despair, victory and failure teeter precariously on the decision made at that moment. These are moments ungoverned by happenstance, untroubled by luck. These are the moments in which a person earns the right to live, or not.”
Jonathan Maberry, Rot & Ruin

“I’m not sure I could trust a man who would bypass an Oreo in favor of vanilla wafers. It’s a fundamental character flaw, possibly a sign of true evil.”
Jonathan Maberry, Patient Zero

“Often it was the most unlikely people who found within themselves a spark of something greater. It was probably always there, but most people are never tested, and they go through their whole lives without ever knowing that when things are at their worst, they are at their best.”
Jonathan Maberry, Rot & Ruin

Trever Just finished (and thoroughly enjoyed) "Dogs of War". One throwaway line caught me - Joe made a joke about the DMS versus Godzilla. I realize it would burst the believability factor of the series, but now I really, *really* want to see Joe piloting a giant robot in battles against incoming kaiju.

Please make this happen. :D

Excited to make it through to Flesh & Bone which is where I left off at a while back. Now I own 2 copies of Rot & Ruin, Dust & Decay, an a hard back cover of Flesh an Bone along with the paperback that came with the collection.

Mike Working title: Feast or Famine
Forward by Bowie Ibarra
Deadline for submissions August 1, 2013

Anthology Theme: There are individuals known as survivalists, or now known by the recently coined term: preppers. These people are making preparations to ensure their safety and continued existence in the occurrence of a catastrophic disaster or event. But what happens when the SHTF? Really? You will have a population of have and have nots. Those who were ready and prepared and those who are caught unaware and panicked. The struggle for available resources will be another catastrophic event in and of itself as humans fight to either defend and retain what they have established or to take what others had the foresight to store and prepare.

This is the end as we know it. For some, life and death hinges on acquiring basic human needs, while for others life is good, if not better in accordance with their due diligence.
The Zombie Apocalypse has arrived. Will it be feast or famine?

Coty I just finished Benny Imura #2 "Dust & Decay" the other day an I already own "Flesh & Bone" but I'm hesitant on picking it up because I know I'll soon have it read an than be on hold until later this year for "Fire & Ash". I've never been an avid reader, actually haven't read more than 10 books on leisure time my whole life. Recently I thought I'd throw down the games an pick up the books an I thought you'd be proud to know Rot & Ruin or the Benny Imura Series is the first I've decided to read. So far enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks Jonathan!

Q: Will we see Fast Tommy anymore in the series?

Michelle You know I love a book when I decide to actually buy a copy for myself after reading it for free thanks to my library.

MommyDearest Just finished Rot & Ruin and Dust & Decay. Couldn't put them down, or actually I didn't want to put them down. There was 1 part in the second book that I didn't like. A part that made me cry. Wish that part had been different.

That said I'm really looking forward to Flesh & Bone.

Thanks for the add!

Christine Hatfield thanks for being my friend

Dear Faye I'm sure you already saw my little message to you but I still just want to say you really rock, Sir!! I'll be reading your books and review each one of them :)

Jonathan Great to see you, Eva. Thanks for coming to the Liars Club event.

I'm working out some new readings/signings. I'll be doing Clinton, NJ; Claymont, DE; and a few places around Pennsylvania. Dates and times soon.

Eva-Marie I had a GREAT time listening to you read this afternoon! I'm so happy I learned about it from you in time to drive up. I can honestly say there aren't but about 2 or 3 authors I'd drive 2+ hours for but your story in The New Dead was out of this world and I know Rot & Ruin will be also. (Which I'm going to cherish now! lol)
If you think of it let me know when you do any other readings near Philly and I'll try to come. I'm going to get Zombie CSU this weekend too - looking forward to it. Thanks!!

Tiff I read "Countdown" a couple months ago after my book club finished up Patient Zero. I loved it, great background to get the reader into the story of Joe Ledger.

I just finished "Deep Dark" - it was fabulous! I miss Joe a lot and I can't wait to get The Dragon Factory, I'm so excited for it to come out 3-2!!
