Honestly the way Ray Bradbury wrote around five short stories that were rejected by magazines back in the day and then when he combined all together Fahrenheit 451 was born i think it was his destiny to make this happen.
This book is a classic one and we all know burning books was happening in the past, happening right now and will happen again in the future so it hits close to home. A dystopian novel with some sci-fi elements, weird scenes and poetic sentences that i found pretty funny because the characters can't and don't know how to read or talk poetry.
At the end of the book there's Afterword from the author that he explains everything and gives some of his background even. Beautiful~...more

"Married With Zombies" is a delightful blend of comedy, romance, and survival horror. The story follows a couple grappling with marital issues who find themselves thrust into a zombie apocalypse during a routine counseling session.
The book strikes a perfect balance between humor and tension, with witty dialogue and clever nods to classic zombie lore. I particularly enjoyed the chapter introductions, reminiscent of the rules from 'Zombieland,' which added an extra layer of fun to the reading experience.
What sets this book apart is its relatable protagonists. Unlike many survival tales, the couple possesses no special abilities or plot armor—they're just regular people trying to navigate the chaos around them. Despite the high stakes, the narrative never feels overwhelming, keeping the reader engaged from start to finish!!!
I found myself unable to put the book down, eagerly turning pages to see what would happen next. And the promise of a trilogy has me counting down the days until the next installment. Plus, the clever easter egg on the final page left me eagerly anticipating what's to come.
Overall, "Married With Zombies" is a refreshingly unique take on the zombie genre that left me hungry for more. Can't wait to read the next book of this trilogy!!!...more

The protagonist, Jacob, is dealing with some issues from a "time machine". A machine that takes the person back in the time somewhere in the 20th Century of his desire to witness the moment of his choice. This works as an entertainment because all of the humans beings got a thing that keeps them immortal so it would be boring living hundred of years doing nothing.
This story questions if the addictions we have nowadays are really worth it and some other subjects the reader might find interesting.
The author's description of historical events, environment back in the time, dialogues and attitudes is very well written and we can see the effort he took to either research or remember how people would acted and say back in the day.
I'd prefer it would be less in length because it had some details that didn't keep my interest at all, though....more

The idea of an alternative future in the North America after a catastrophic event was very well written (around the age of 4,000 so like 2k years from now). The character discovers a location and comes up with his own thoughts of what people used to be and do back in the time. Even when he discovers a sign of McDonald's he believes this belonged to a kind of a religious group. So funny ...more

Different characters, strong protagonists especially the female reporter and of course it describes to detail the world before the Second Martian War, durin the War and the Aftermath. They even land in different countries on the last pages and gives a different narrative than focusing on England only.
Now about the Cons i think these ones come to personal preference but the reader might find some paragraphs or Chapters (keep in mind it has in total 98 Chapters but change every 3-4 pages) overwhelming with details or descriptions or events that even if you skip them you won't miss anything. And another issue is the continued failure of the Mankind trying to defeat the alien Tripods without any effect. I get it they are more advanced at that period of time, 20th Century, than Humanity but still there should be a better way to handle their advance in this war.
In general its a MUST READ if you have finished the first book to end the storyline....more

The books is well written and i had no troubles reading it, except of some USA's references on celebrities or they way a couple of people talked with. It was a book i wanted to read for some years and finally i managed to do it. I'm happy with it but it's not what i really expected to happen and not they way that Governor was going to be made. Well... i have finished an hour now and still thinking about it. That was a plot-twist obviously, i'm very curious for the next one. I think i will catch it on my hands soon !...more
