This book was cute... The only things I disliked about this book were (1.) the fact that the love story reminded me of Twilight. Rush into things muchThis book was cute... The only things I disliked about this book were (1.) the fact that the love story reminded me of Twilight. Rush into things much? & (2.) Beth Fantaskey took forever to describe things throughout the book (which is not necessarily a bad thing!), but at the end it was just done. No explanations or anything. And those two things were enough to bring a four star rating down to a three star rating.
I do think that most people will think that it's a cute love story. If you were interested in it, then go ahead & read it... Especially if you enjoyed the Twilight saga....more

I often wonder while reading these books just how much is written by Margaret Stohl & how much is written by Kami Garcia. I love the voice these books have. To me they feel closer to how an actual teen would talk & act than most books recently have. I love that they are based in the south & I love that they are about normal kids (as far as the mortals go) who aren't the most beautiful, richest, smartest... Just normal kids. And they are intelligent books. I didn't feel like it was being dumbed down just because it was young adult fiction, which happens sometimes. All in all, I would recommend this book just as much as I did the other one... Maybe more. And the cliffhanger left me needing to know more. I can't wait till the third installment comes out!...more

Coraline was good, but I think it would have been a better read for me if I hadn't seen the movie yet.
