He returns in the sequel to the national bestseller Orphan X. Evan Smoak is the Nowhere Man! When he is reached by the very desperate, he can and will do anything to save them. In the course of rescuing someone, Evan is captured by a sociopath, drugged, and taken to a remote location which is heavily guarded. He attempts to outwit and overpower his captor at every opportunity which leads to many suspenseful and pulse racing scenes. A game of cat and mouse ensues where we witness him using the numerous skills taught to him as a youngster in the Orphan programme. An exceptional ending that leaves us wanting more. Gregg Hurwitz fails to disappoint and I can hardly wait to read his next thriller starring Evan Smoak!

Sharlah May Nash's older brother Telly beat their drunken father to death with a baseball bat in order to save both of their lives. They are separated at that point, both going into different foster homes. Eight years later, 13 year old Sharlah has finally moved on and is settling into her new life with her dog Luca and with her about to be adopted parents, retired FBI profilers Pierce Quincy and Rainie Conner. Sheriff Shelly Atkin is notified of shots fired at the EZ gas station and upon her arrival discovers two dead bodies, an abandoned pickup and security camera footage of a teenage shooter with flat, dead eyes staring straight into the camera before he shoots it out. The killer is identified as 17 year old Telly Ray Nash, Sharlah's brother, who has a series of minor offences. Quincy is called in to assist with the case and is stunned to learn the identity of the suspect. Upon the discovery of two other related murders Quincy feels that Sharlah might be his next victim. The frantic manhunt begins and a thrilling ride ensues. With extremely clever twists and turns, an intriguing storyline with plenty of suspense, and a shocking conclusion, Lisa Gardner is at the top of her game with "Right Behind You".

I have yet to come across an author who not only writes heart breaking yet heart warming stories but also the beautifully artistic way he depicts the beauty that is the Hawaiian islands. Rachel, the narrator, is one of the strongest characters I've had the pleasure to live through twice. Her story is powerful and one that has stayed with me for seven years thus far. I could truly feel this author's work being a labour of love and this is what has made it one of my all-time favourite books. Honolulu and Palisades Park, both by Alan Brennert are wonderful reads as well....more
