This is the new sequel to How the Grinch stole Christmas. I give my grand babies a Thanksgiving gift every year loaded with Christmas themed stuff to enjoy during the holiday season. This year they will be getting this as a part of that gift. I preordered it and upon receiving it , I was curious. I wanted to read it and today was the day I finally did.
I LOVED IT! It was written in Dr. Seuss rhyming fashion and had all the holiday feels….
The Grinch now loves Christmas and plans to win the Who-ville Christmas tree decorating contest. When he gets second place, he’s angry and begins to lose his spirit until something happens that makes his heart grow even more than it did before. ❤️❤️❤️
I can’t wait to share this with my little loves.

I normally would not rate a children’s book, as I am not a child and I am not counting it toward my Goodreads reading goal. However, I must make an exception here.

Heim so perfectly captures Dr. Seuss’s spirit in this new story that I would be hard pressed to decide which man it was written by if I didn’t already know. It is adorable, heartwarming, and embodies what the first Grinch story gave us without being repetitive. No matter your age, if you love the Grinch, you are going to want to read this story!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Grabbed this at Target today and really enjoyed it. I read the original Grinch book again first before reading this in order to compare the two. The original is still better, yet Alastair Heim has perfectly captured the spirit of Dr. Seuss’s prose and the essence of these characters. Grinch still feels like Grinch and in my head I could hear the voice of Boris Karloff narrating. Highly recommend.

I didn’t expect much but I enjoyed it. I actually like that it mirrored the same rhyme scheme and even the same words throughout.

I thought this was a very good book....I love Dr. Seuss and his books and was mildly alarmed when I saw someone was writing a sequel to How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

I think Alastair Heim which also rhymes with rhyme did a phenomenal job. The rhymes were good and fun, the kind that give you joy to read out loud!

The illustrator also did a great job, if I didn't know better I would say it was like Dr. Seuss was still here with us.

Loved it! You might think Dr. Seuss wrote it himself. The story is spot on and fits the Grinch perfectly. The illustrations are colorful and very exact to the originals. Can't wait to enjoy it with my grandkids.

This was actually really good! I thought the rhyming was great and the illustrations were on point. It included all the important characters and was a lot like the first book in a good way.

This is a sequel to a childhood favorite of mine (How the Grinch Stole Christmas). I noticed it at our library while shelving, and thought I'd check it out and read it before our Christmas books get in high demand. Though nothing beats the original, this was still a cute story.

I really loved this -- surprising since the author isn't Dr. Seuss! It really does the original justice and expands on it.

I was honestly, genuinely surprised at how high-quality and engaging this sequel to one of the most famous Christmas books is. It's not a cheapo cash-in or too-slick update. Rather, the illustrations, text, and entire feel of the book capture the spirit of Seuss.

Admirable attempt to recreate the magic of the original Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas, but in the end there was some sort of magical spark that was missing, and this fell far short of the original. It also suffered from feeling like a retread, and it was slightly depressing how easily the "reformed Grinch" was able to backslide. Enjoyed it but can't recommend it very highly. Kudos to the artist on recapturing the look of all the familiar characters, though...

THE GRINCH GOT AN AWFULLY CRAFTY IDEA!

With a plan in his hand, the Grinch hiked to Who-wood, where he found the most Christmassy tree that he could. . . I've done it! he shouted. It's perfectly GRAND! I hope that it shows every Who in the land.

I was excited to recently find out there is a sequel although, I didn't think we necessarily needed one. But I surley appreciate that it exist.

Alastair Heim and Aristides Ruiz's not only respectfully honors the famous fun art style, (which brings to mind the 1966 animated tv special adaptation) that still grabs our shriveled grinchy hearts the most. They have also perfectly re-captured the spirit of it's original 1957 beloved holiday traditional story How the Grinch Stole Christmas! And the essence of Who-ville with it's many cheerful inhabitants sixty six years earlier. Evoking all those same familiar Suess-y feelings us long time fans has adored.

How the Grinch Lost Christmas was a wonderful worthy follow-up for our loveable meanie greenie. I really enjoyed what the author & illustrator has created here. Almost as if Dr Seuss had written this himself. I honestly feel he would've been proud with this newest heartwarming addition.
